Built for the awkward middle of Canadian alcohol compliance
Alcohol Remit turns fragmented provincial rules into source-traced charge calculations and practical exports — without pretending the hard parts are solved.

- The problem
- The rules exist. Lining them up is the work.
- A Canadian winery, brewery, cidery, or distillery that ships direct to consumers across provincial borders is not short on rules — it is short on rules that agree with each other. Provincial authorization, remittance logic, filing frequency, and template formats each follow their own shape.
- So the real work becomes reconciliation: exporting orders, reading board instructions by hand, and re-entering the same numbers into separate workbooks for each province and period. It is repetitive, easy to get subtly wrong, and it scales badly with every new SKU and destination.
- Authorization is separate
- Being allowed to ship into a province is its own process — distinct from calculating and reporting what is owed once you do.
- Cadence differs by province
- Alberta reports monthly; Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador report quarterly. The calendar never lines up cleanly.
- Templates do not match
- Each board expects its own workbook shape, so the same figures get re-entered in several formats.
- Our mission
- Make the calculable part boring, and be honest about the rest
- Alcohol Remit exists to make the calculable part of cross-province DTC operations — order classification and available destination-charge components — source-traced, repeatable, and calm.
- The parts that genuinely require human judgment — authorization, licensing, and legal interpretation — stay in human hands. We would rather do a narrow thing accurately than a broad thing approximately.
